Queen's Platinum Jubilee Central weekend 2022
Wow! we are going to have a special bank holiday weekend from Thursday 2nd June to Sunday 5th June. 4 whole days of celebrations, large and small.
On 6th February 2022, Her Majesty the Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth. Little did the Queen know that when she was crowned Queen, she would still be the Queen, 70 years later. What an achievement.
Th Jubilee celebrations begin with the Queen’s Birthday Parade, also known as the Trooping of the Colour. There will also be the lighting of the Platinum Jubilee Beacons. Over 1,500 beacons will be lit throughout the U.K., Channel Islands, Isle of Man and U.K. overseas territories.
On Saturday 4th June there will be a Platinum party at the Palace On Sunday 5th June we have the Big Jubilee Lunch. How will you be celebrating? Sharing friendship, food and fun with neighbours? Your lunch can be big or small, street party or picnic, tea and cake or a garden barbecue.
There is also the Platinum Jubilee Pageant. This will be London based and will combine pomp and ceremony, street art, theatre, music, circus, costumes as well as cutting edge visual technology.
